The Ridgeway National Trail

The Ridgeway in Southern England is an ancient road-turned-national-trail; spanning 87 miles from Avebury to Ivinghoe. It consists of two contrasting halves, separated by the River Thames. The western part largely follows the route of a prehistoric ridge track along the crest of the North Wessex Downs. The eastern part crosses the River Thames at Streatley, then follows the river for five miles before heading east into the Chiltern Hills.

Documented below is my experience: Six days, five nights, one pair of old boots and a whole lot of scroggen.
